What suspension would you use under it Steve? Independent airbag? Nice weight goal too.

Got my wheels today, now I know the offset I can get the suspension sorted and then move on to the rest of the frame. These tyres will stay for the road but will get something bit taller for offroad work

Very interested in your build Steve as I have designed something very similar for my next build. How are you going to laminate your panels?

Suspension is decided on and will be ordered shortly so the build can begin Going with the Huntsman independent coil suspension which I may modify to run airbags instead of coils but it will get me started like it is. The main concern is height hence the airbags so I can drop it right down to fit in the garage. The other advantage of going with a coil/airbag setup is I can tweak it with different coils if needed to get the suspension so match the finished weight. I am ordering the 1250kg setup, with a max rating of 1450kg which will be plenty.

Made to order to match the wheel offest, comes with everything below (10" electric brakes are my choice) Also ordering two sets as it looks like there will be two of these built Saves me some cash on parts as well as they cut a deal for the two sets.

Just waiting on the other set of wheels so I can order for the correct offset, these will be XJ alloys to match the tow vehicle. That has given me a bit more time to mock up some more in sketchup. Added some more detail to the interior and put on a hitch and rear bar for the bike carrier. Also started doing cut lists for the frame and weight calculations.

Cheers

Looking good Steve. Are you going to mount your panels similar to how Styro' do theirs? The rear sloping corners look a bit vulnerable depending on how gnarly the tracks are you go on. And any feedback on how the Huntsman compare to the VC suspension? VC is local to me so I've looked at theirs for my camper. Huntsman is certainly better priced and still uses Alko brakes so as long as the main arms are comparable it looks like a good way to go.

My only real concern is that I prefer the wheels you had in your post on page 1.
