After 230,000kms, I'm surprised they still work at all.

I think I'll go with the Penrite PRO GEAR 80W-140 front and rear, it's the easiest to get a hold of and seems to be a popular choice.

I'm on the same page as you with my 03 Overland ( sick of the lack of drive to the wheel with the most traction )and are going to put a Lokka lock right into a quadratrac diff out of a larado and fit the whole diff to the front, I will possibly do the same to the rear ( have a zj with a locked transfe (( read stuffed gyrotor assembly )) with a front lunch box locker and a very tight rear LSD, works great on and greater off road ) however before I do I am going to change the diff oils ( running fully synthetic 85/140 now ) to gear oil 85/140 and see if it improves traction ( don't care about chirping tyres in car parks )

I've read about diff/axle swaps that allow you to install various lockers.

I hesitate to go the effort and cost as my Jeep goes everywhere my mates 100 series goes. He's got a rear e-locker, full muddies. So in general I'm happy how far I get with all-terrains on dry rocky trails. Going to try muddies after these bloody expensive Cooper AT3 wear out.

I've just noticed the wheel with traction doesn't turn as much as I'd expect. But it does still try to transfer the power to wheel with traction. I've got no idea when the diff was last serviced, so a good service can't hurt.

I was hoping the gear oil would arrive today so I can service it tomorrow and test it Saturday before a Sunday convey to Lithgow powerlines.

Remember at best Quadradrive is just an LSD and not really better than any other so it does have limitations.

Beerbelly i hope yours is a V8 Overland as the diesels do not like auto lockers. Note you also can't put an auto locker into the front of a WJ as the front aren't free wheeling hubs.

As for the transfer case, I'll use the genuine Mophar NV247 oil the previous owner gave me. He gave me 2 1/2 bottles and from what I've been reading, liquid gold would be cheaper.

Edit: I'm leaning towards the Penrite PRO GEAR 80W-140 simply because Supercheap stock it, Redline looks like eBay only.
Which one did you end up using? Be interested to hear what they are like without the FM as I'm about to change my diff fluid.

Sorry for replying to such an old post...
I'm seriously thinking of throwing a Lokka in the front of my WG (diesel). Are you still running your Spartan? Any issues? Diesel or petrol?
