After the success of the intercooler to intake hose replacement I'm now taking a look at the turbo to intercooler hose (part# 52079979AA).

This one is also a bit 'sweaty' on the outside so I'm thinking this one may be a bit tired. I'd like to remove it for a closer inspection but I can't see what kind of connection is on the turbo end (the intercooler end is just a jubilee clip).

I'd whip the filter housing off but it's currently suffering a seized bolt

Is it a circlip or something?

There's a circlip type device that retains the hose, you can pop this circlip out with a small screwdriver and the hose will pull out easily.

Thanks for that.

I guess this type of connection precludes going down the silicone hose route.

There are several used ones for sale on eBay but I've only found one seller (in Poland) offering new ones.

Interesting - I hadn't realised this part could be a problem (I'm new to turbos).

Is this the connector between the turbo and the intercooler hose? Does it still require the circlip connection?

This part replaces the black plastic part in the bottom right corner so you can use a standard hose rather than the current configuration. Not sure if it'll work with the WJ CRD but I'd say it probably will.

Thanks. I'll have a look in daylight.

I think my next job will be to fit a catch can, probably the Provent 200. I had a look for the Aussie Flashlube catch can but it doesn't seem to be available in the northern hemisphere.
