About the only event I go to is once every few years, I go to the caravan & camping show in Melbourne. I get a free ticket from AL-KO. Fill upon food outside. Have a metal drink bottle with favorite drink in it.
Takes a bit of abuse to kill a 3 way absorption fridge. Mine in the poptop is about 1976 & still good.
A weekend without current technology is a good weekend!

Mine is into its 12 year and has done roughly 90K km at least, once I get the new one fitted out I will dismantle the old jigger and have a look for the leak, the yellow was in the pan under the burner so is hidden at present, interesting to see if an external fault or the pipe was eaten from the inside, ammonia/hydrogen/water can be a tad acidic I think is the word. ..... I'll have some hard to find spare parts in the way of doors, racks, control unit, switch panel and such for a RMD 4605, possibly heater element 240 and 12v if they don't fit my new unit...................... I never bin anything until its been inspected....

Normally they fail from the LPG heater causing condensation & they corrode out.
Hope you are lucky & can salvage some good bits. Adding a couple of old computer fans can improve their working in hot weather. I put 2 in & they run in series on 12v, they are 5v fans.

Ive had 2 computer fans mounted at the back for years, in fact the thermo switch had died so I replaced it and had fired the fridge up to see if all working right when I smelt the cats pee and knew it was doomed, I suspect it was corrosion in the burner area, have a bet with a mate about it, he reckon internal rot and I reckon since its used 90% of the time on gas its the old heat on steel equals rust myself............this new rig comes with 2 fans, more than likely under the condensor fins so I will probably relocate to above, I think a fan drawing air is better than pushing the flow plus easier to get at if one fails, I think I will leave my original fans in place on the vent, mainly as I did such a good job fitting them last time they may not want to come off.... Friends are getting a new roof after the hail so guess who has some nice insulation, metal backed as well for the fridge cabinet................. no gripes so far so a bit off topic I suppose, being retired every days a Sunday so still a weekend feel........... bloody lawn needs doing.............

Went to order a fuel filter and oil filter for spares box for soon to head off tour as I used the last of them last service, ended up buying my usual pack of oil/fuel/air as it was cheaper than individual units, prices can vary so much just for the same brand.... May have to get back into the habit of buying 6 packs of each but thats alot of $$ to throw down nowadays.
