This is the tranny shudder I mentioned......some guys say its very severe like their KJ is being shaken to death! How's yours?
I have also read where vibration at rest is because the torque converter hasn't got enough oil. Usually happens when you start and move from Park to drive to quickly after it starts and the torque converter hasn't had time to prime with oil apparently (I'm no expert on how these work!). I have had this happen to me once too, when I did this. There was some really noticeable vibration for a second or two, then it smoothed out. Guys on the forum are saying that this is a normal thing too. You just need to let it idle for a couple of seconds before selecting gear from Park, which sounds feasible. It could also be a symptom of low oil level in the tranny - so check that too, to make sure its filled to where it should be - some guy on the LOST forum had his CRD delivered with only half the required oil in the tranny from the dealer, cause it took 5 more litres or something to register on the dipstick! It could also be a symptom of oil starvation because of a collapsed (dodgy) filter in there.....check that date!
