The 400ish threads have mostly to do with the old Merc engine: swirl motor, 'o' ring issues, etc. This new one has the VM 3.60 V6 CRD so I would be more inclined to go by the VM 2.8 CRD (in line 4) history in the KJ and JK, which isn't too bad (with the exception of the turbo hose problem).

There in NO, ZERO threads on Jeepgarage about WK2 CRD reliability, because no one has one yet.

There is threads on there about issues with both V6 and V8 WK2's, but a lot of whinging just for the sake of whinging..... only you guys can make your own minds up, by reading the threads yourself.

You're right - no diesels yet, but build quality issues could potentially span all the models.

Having test driven and spent a lot of time (a few hours) in a new GC, I haven't seen any evidence of build quality issues (yet).

The complaints on the other forum relate to the very first GC's released. In reading some of the posts, I'd say lots of them are dealership customer service issues too (how the warranty claims are managed, or taken seriously).

Let's hope there are limited quality issues on our cars!! Especially mine!

Feels like russian roulette, but the quality and value for money is pretty damn good.

Hopefully I can sell my GC and GTR in the meantime...

Cheers
I would have thought you could have the 20" with road tyres the a set of 18" wheels with off road tyres for off road work. you could the raise the suspension to clear the off road tyres when required

Start breaking down the 400+ pages of faults.
Users starting multiple threads. IE 1 vehicle multiple faults.
Multiple threads discussing new TSB's.
Wingers with 1 post only.
Multiple threads about the same fault.
Trivial things, loose trim that simply needs to be pushed in.
120k built don't think they are doing to bad.

We live in an age of information, Would we be having this discussion 10 years ago?
We would only know by word of mouth or news!

I know they have some problems, but I don't think it is as bad as it appears on the net.

I didn't read all the posts - Just got the hint there were some early build issues (by the date of the posts)....

It's a moot point since I've already ordered one!!
