Well done on your new wheels and very jealous that you have yours already I've got an overland on order so hopefully I'm not affected by the delay as I was already expecting July delivery

Make sure you get some pics up when you get it coz it's the same colour as mine

I have been waiting for the Diesel to arrive, but now I am questioning my decision for the following reasons,
1. The extra cost expected to be 4/5k
2. Premium for diesel fuel
3. My calculations that with a 4k premium and with petrol at 1.50 and diesel at 1.70 and Petrol consumption at 11.4/100 and diesel at 8.3/100 and 15000km/year it will take 8.8 years to pay off at present day values, and who knows what will happen. I have now doubt that the diesel will have a premium on resale, but is it worth it if the vehicle is kept for at least 6 years, I am interested to read what other forum members think.

I personally think the economy arguement should be put to the side and the drive be put into focus. I priced the two (assuming extra $5K purchase cost) on a 5yr lease and the diesel was slightly more expensive however it will be worth more at the end of it too.
I would go diesel (or Hemi) for the extra torque to move the 2100kg.

Default WK Diesel

Hi Guys,
Im too waiting(impatiently) for the CRD,
Wk looks and feels so much better than the Wh.
2 months to go and counting.BUT...........
Have heard from the service manager at my Jeep dealer that the diesel will only be ltd and/or Overland?????No Laredo,i hope he's wrong.
And possible 6k over petrol version(could be upto 10k more, aka Land Rover Disco).
AND you have to pay more for the "Off-Road Adventure 11 group"?????
The last one gets me! its a Jeep! why am i paying more for skid plates, bigger rear axle and a/t tyres,Come on Jeep seriously.

(And the spare wheel is under the floor Again? a personnel gripe with me,put the bloody thing on the rear door or underneath.Anyone looked under the rear of a WK,a big void waiting to be filled with spare wheel,2nd fuel tank etc im kept up at night thinking about what i can do with that space, but im a nerd(so my wife says)

Congrats guys!
Did you purchase the extended warranty with the vehicle?
If you are planning to keep your vehicle beyond 100,000 Km / 3 years pay the money now!
In comparison to the cost of parts it's cheap assurance.

Yeah, we got the extended warranty. They wanted $2800 for an extra 2 years taking it to a 5yr / 175 000Km. Although we ended up getting it for $2k which is supposed to be cost price? But what is cost price on a warranty hey?

Like you said, I don't see any of the new technology being cheap to repair

Reading a UK review the CRD there will be in the laredo but a reduced power version. The Ltd and overland geting the full power of the same engine.
Can't figure why they would do this.
Or this reporter knows sh!t.
