Does look a bit like one of those whale sharks sucking up plankton from the front. The centre hoop just needs a different shape to make it work I think. Not so high and wide but is just my opinion so dont take offence.

yes you are right it does look like a big whale shark mouth in the photo at the moment, but I still have
more to do on it .. With the temp problems xj's have I didn't want anything in front of the grill as it restricts air flow.
when we are travelling around Australia later in the year the one of the things we might catch in there would be some road
kill... roo or emu stakes is coming to mind..

With it that big and open it might go straight through the hole!
A round bar will split the air stream and re-converge right behind it pretty much so wont make a difference.

I though there would still be bit of a low pressure behind it, but a bar of that size wouldn't affect it too much. And then it's always the speed you are going.
