Yeah.
I can tell on mine taking off on a steep drive , get shudder.
All AU delivered TJs had 30 44 combo.

That may not be true for TJ's but someone will clear that that up. For good prices & quick delivery rockauto is your friend, much better than most aussie suppliers. Have fun with your jeep.

Thanks heaps oldon! I will order some mounts and replace regardless cheap and easy fix, hopefully that's all it is! rockauto is so much cheaper than anywhere here

This helped me diagnose a bent output shaft, which I understand these are prone to.
I'd suggest trying to diagnose before you start ordering parts, it can get a bit demoralising spending money and not fixing things.
Work your way through the basics, even rotating wheels around the vehicle if not tried already.
Simple things like stuffed UJs etc..
Good luck, welcome to Jeeping its addictive.

Thanks ajftj. great idea to eliminate rear diff and tailshaft, other suggestions are for the gearbox mount, I will replace that first regardless as I assume its original and cheap to do.

It may not be , but not going to hurt.
I replaced everything I could when I bought my TJ.
Taught me how everything goes together.
Gave me spare parts.

Yeah, I get that, did the same myself got fed up after about 18 months, but finally got on top of things. Not really an issue when your planning to keep it for years, just financially eye watering at the start.

ZJ dana 44 into TJ
I have another question sorry guys, will a 1996 ZJ grand Cherokee dana 44 internals fit the TJ?
Reason I ask is the LSD plates are defiantly naffed in the current diff, so I thought maybe I will just replace the lot with a LOKKA buy 4wd Systems, but they informed me not able to do so with a LSD fitted.
So searching the facebook market and gumtree there is a local guy selling a dana 44 diff from a ZJ, so I am just wondering if the internals will suit? or are ratios etc completely different, I tried searching but I think it makes me more confused!
