I think the big problem with the KJ is that the A pillar is actually part of the door isn't it? So there really isnt anywhere to bolt it to when going up the windscreen side.

I believe that once upon a time the diesel XJ boys didn't have a Safari snorkel. So one of them worked out which existing snorkel was the closest fit, worked out how to convert it to the diesel XJ, told Safari about it, and hey-presto a diesel XJ Safari snorkel becomes available!

Probably they're waiting for someone in the KJ gang to do the same thing. There's a 5 page thread (and other miscellaneous threads) on the LOST board in the US about this. It seems that the old Toyota Tacoma (I don't even know what that is!) snorkel is the closest fit. It just takes someone with the balls enough to cut a big hole in the side of their Jeep to try it!

It's not a Safari snorkel it's a Airflow

D'oh!

Oh well, the theory's still sound! Get a snorkel from Airflow and/or Safari and make it fit. Then tell them about it.

Well, yeah the door kind of wraps round the A pillar a bit, but judging from this pic, the mount goes "up" into the A pillar from behind the door seal rubber, so I think that would work for the KJ too. There might be a bit of bending needed, but I think it'd fit;

Yeah, it's the XJ diesel in the article Kyro pointed us at. I was just trying to say that the A pillar mount is a pretty thin bit of metal, so the fact that the door wraps around the A pillar on a KJ shouldn't stop a snorkel being mounted there.

There is at least some straight edged lip there on an XJ tho. Hey it'd be great if they made one but i am just saying really that it would be pretty tricky.
