First thought - have you tried heatgunning the liner and pushing it back more? There is some space there so it might be worth a go. I'd hesitate to rip it out as it does give some protection.

If I may ask - I see that you're fitting a dual battery system - where does the second battery go? There's s*d all room under my bonnet for whats' there already!

Yeah, heat gunning may be a good work-around, but it'll only gain me maybe 5mm? The pinch weld can't be bashed any flatter and the wheel arch liner is only juuust sitting off that.

Dual Battery - i've got a removable 70aH deep cycle (fully sealed type) that sits in the rear cargo area.
I ran some 8GA cable from the battery to the rear. Cable connects to a dual battery isolator which lives behind the rear quarter fascia.
I also added 2 hella/merit socket and another ciggie next to the existing socket. Also whacked on a 50A Anderson socket to the fascia.
The portable battery has a lead with an anderson socket on it, and i just plug the battery lead into the fascia socket.
Down the track, i'll buy some batteries small enought to fit under the rear seats (but i've run outtta dough atm!).

The mod is pretty cheap. $75 for the electronic battery isolator, then odds and ends like 8GA cable ($3/m), sockets ($8 ea), fuse holders...

You can fit a dual battery under the bonnet tho - do a search coz 'Droop'? has done it before (I think Pirahna supplied the battery tray) You hafta move the fuse box, computers... a bit of mucking around.
I couldn't do that coz my provent lives there already.
Eric.

Instead of pulling out the whole liner you could trim out the area around the pinch weld & then just spray it Blk to match as this is what I've done along with a caster adjustment but I don't think you'l need to do that.

That's a good idea. I might do that when I get muddies. Prob spray herculiner or some other bituminous crap over the exposed metal sections too

I think atm, the prob's not too bad. Like fouros said, i reckon the 'whirrr' sound will just be louder when i hit bigger bumps. As long as the tyre doesn't catch on the liner i think i'll be right.
Prob give the heat gun a shot to get that 5mm.

I'm a bit reluctant to ditch the entire arch liner coz it's be a biatch to clean out after a muddy trip.

Off to central OZ in a few days time, so i guess any rubbing probs will become more apparent then huh!?
