The aftermarket Mopar skid (bash!) plates are pretty good quality - mine have certainly been "bashed" without significant damage.

My CRD came with a factory engine skid plate: when I swapped it out for a Mopar aftermarket one I was given by a friend I saw that the aftermarket one was twice the thickness of the OEM one (3.2mm compared to 1.6mm) - no wonder the OEM one got a bit dented and distorted!

my Mopar under body plates have stood to a fair battering and have done their job with no signs other than scrape marks, the Mopar "rock rails" have done their job also though now show signs of bending but not yet touching the sill, they don't have any "step" on them which is a pain some times. The Jeep originally come with side steps which only lasted a short time before looking like a "twisty", went to the tip.

Mad Meg I will apologise for others robbing the thread on the basis of semantics.
I thought you wanted to discuss entry/exit benefits of Mopar sidesteps for people with issues in that area.
I am 6 ft tall with large frame but that leg is a big mobility issue. Wife is 5'4". The running boards have done their job for nearly 6 years.

I have super nerfs fitted. I bought them from Wooders garage and had an ARB shop fit them. They have the capability of protecting the sill and acting as one of the toughest rock rails as well as a step. My wife doesn't rate them for high heel access.
