If your looking for an alternative medical centre there is the Hippocrates medical centre on the Coast, https://www.hippocrates.com.au/

I have never been but have heard of good reports from them, might be with a look in.

If they are having that much difficulty with diagnosis, maybe see if he can get copies of all of his medical records, then start emailing some of the research hospitals like John Hopkins, Creighton, or the Mayo Clinic in the US.

He should also be making sure his doctor(s) are reaching out and collaborating. One way to help him yourself is to go to the library and search through the medical journals for case studies that contain some of his symptoms; that information may help his doctors determine the cause, or you can contact the author(s) directly and describe your mate's symptoms in an email.

There are research funds aplenty and if what he is going through really is a mystery, somebody will be interested enough to spend some research funds to meet him.

Best of luck and hope they figure it out.

No probs, if you can, find out how he was tested for Lyme in the past. From experience the aussie tests are hopeless and we eventually had to have bloodwork sent to the US for testing. Not the cheapest option but it finally gave us some answers. If you want to go down that path let me know and I can try and find out how you can get this done.

Other place I can recommend is the centre for digestive disease, they are located in Five Dock (Syd) but might be able to offer some other suggestions. My wife dealt with them a lot before our Lyme diagnosis and they were the most helpful we found.

Hi 10*over,
Agree with other posts.Dont give up.I had problems for last 8 years,in the end had to basically do all my own research, demand ADVANCED blood tests if not done already for vitamin and mineral defiencies, stool tests for parasites, worms etc plus lyme disease (as other member said poorly diagnosed here blood tests now sent to USA) Gluten intolerence, celiac disease, blood viruses.plus heavy metal tests, endoscopy ,colonoscopy( I have had them all)
Has he been overseas could it be workplace related.worked in livestock industry has he ever been on antibiotics called fluoro quinolones these basically destroy your whole system (this is what I found was my major problem)Remember he could have more than one problem, stress also rears its ugly head.I spent thousands of dollars to eliminate things. Also go to good naturapath I found that to be highly beneficial.I was put in the to hard basket however with a lot of work I am back to about 85% health wise.
