If it was running fine before (despite lacking a regear) and it has lost power now, thats a sign of something is wrong. I had dropped my fuel consumption down to 150 kms per tank around town and it was the Oxygen sensors and cat. Once fixed/replaced, with same crappy factory gears on 32" tyres my consumption is around 350 kms per tank around town.

Hence my comment earlier.

These ones need a electronic module to correct speedo signal. I have one running for my kit.

If you can easily (and cheaply), yes do get them checked as they do lose effectiveness before becoming inoperative. I had no check engine code as they had become lazy, but not enough to throw a code yet.

Default Thirsty~

Hey JeepersCreepers, I've a '98 TJ and I get about 50-60 Kms/qrt tank. Driving to the airport and back last night munched through a quarter - Eugh. I figure it has something to do with the 2 tonnes and straight6. I also have bigger tyres (but I don't know what they are because I just don't get the markings ) And I think my gearing hasn't been adjusted to the new tyres because on the highway the odo check is whack!
All that being said I got 400kms to a tank driving from Epping to newcastle and back, I was running on fumes when I returned though :/
