How much is a cj8 worth

Red book states $5000-8500.

I bought one from here early September.

I drove it to Cape York & back only to find I had broken the Chassis, So I do suggest if you get one spend a couple hundred on stiffeners.

I am rebuilding it on to another chassis with completely different running gear (just because I can, a CJ8 on coils).

The 258 engine was only a couple of months old when I bought it & pulls like a horse (even got the receipt for it). if your interested.

Rear diff has been upgraded to one piece axles also.

The gear box is shot. (No reverse or neutral. I drove home from the Cape to Sydney).

Transfer case & front diff is good also.

I will be starting the tear down in about 2 weeks & advertising the parts soon.

I really loved driving it, so I think once its rebiult with a good V8 it will be Awesome!!!!

P plates=no v8s. Might be interested in parts but for now I dont need any Ijust want a whole cj8. I might have to direct him to this thread to show him his dreaming. Didnt think it was worth $17k

Well just talked to him and hes set on his price which i told him was dreaming so guess its a no go but still have 2 other options.

Yer he said if he doesnt sell it then he doesnt care. Might have a think about the one in perth. Wouldnt cost too much to fix since my brothers a spray painter and i work at a panel shop. Might give him a ring and get some decent pics.

But yer I can wait till I find a good one. I did find one perfect one but I think it's a bit out of my price range.
