Default WK2 Headlights at night?

Thnx All, I'll have another look over the Xmas break.
I do notice that on high beam, one could be possum spotting, so they may be out of alignment.

I get flashed all the time.

I’ve been meaning to bring this up. I’ve got an Overland and it has auto levelling headlights and I’m not sure (I have yet to read the manual on this subject) I can adjust them down a little?? I love the spread of the low beam – they are great lights. However, I can see the people in their car as they drive past so no wonder I cop a flash every now and then.

This might help..I got it a Jeep forum (can't remember which):

Alignment Adjusting
If you open your hood and look on the right or left side above each headlight you will see rounded slot about 1/2" X 1" on each side, Use a flashlight and look down thru the slot about 4-5 inches down you will see a white round dial with a phillps screw slot in it. You will need about a 8" long phillps screw driver to reach it. (turn screw clockwise to raise headlight)

Aaah!!! ..I do remember try http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f309/...nment-1252068/ see post by ermatthe for some pictures

I've noticed that when I first start my WK2 the headlights go right up, right down and then right up again. I spoke to a service guy in a Jeep dealership and he asked did I have an eTag near the light sensing camera behind the rear view mirror. He reckons that that can cause the auto-levelling headlights to aim too high.

So I've taken my eTag down and will see what happens tomorrow morning.

Just thought I'd post what I was told. Don't know if it has been bought up before.

Mine does the same and no eTag

Hhmm, yes my etag is upp near my LSC, but the headlamps have always moved like that on start up. I understood it's the HID self leveling function. I think the service guy needs a bit of self leveling but happy to be proven incorrect......

Haven't yet met a service guy that doesn't need a bit of levelling

I still think my shine too high, even though as everyone here points out the HID are bright but I can be lighting up street signs 100M away in traffic. I would have thought that the higher level is for when there is no other traffic about and they should auto lower in traffic. Anyway will let you know if moving the eTag makes any difference.

I do agree that it will probably have no impact but worth a go. Am sure the lights shone lower when I first got the Jeep. The only thing I've done with it since then is put airbags in the rear, but can't see how that could possibly cause any issue.

May just have to manually adjust them as detailed in posts below.
