Both motors are joined together by a coupling which is housed in the adapter part, pictured in this thread.
The upside is, the motors share the load and therefore do not run at their extreme limits, which in turn 'does' make them reliable.
With a 12v setup, an increase in line speed is not noticeable without load, but increase power and speed when loaded, (when you really need it).
We have found through competition experience, two healthy batteries also high cold cranking ability and likewise, alternator is enough.
In 24v applications, 55 - 65amp alternators have been enough with two batteries.
24v setups require big power solenoids and cables to really get the most out of them.
Flamin Fabrications twin motor setup has proven to be a reliable and simple product. It will fit anywhere a normal high mount winch will fit.
Motors can be easily separated and will run as one motor, if need be.
The adapter housing also acts as a good heat sink.
At $1300 for the Adapter Kit, 6hp for $480, solenoids ranging from $240 - $480 per motor.
Flamin Fabrications can build you a complete 'Australian Made' competition spec winch, at an 'extremely' competitive price, aswell as an air operated Free Spool...$$ poa
