Hi, i am new guy here, own & love my 2005 Cherokee CRD.
After last years trip down south ( we live in Perth) i decided that lift is a must.
Went to Ian Diffen - local tyre place and installed King springs keeping stock shocks.
It suppose to be 2 inch lit, ended up with 30mm at the front, 60mm at the rear.
Is that normal or they used wrong springs? i suppose to do it at Wilkinson suspension but they didn't offer any finance options - i wish i could afford it straight away. Should i call Ian Diffen about it?
Thanks in advance, martin

If they used the front springs intended for the petrol motor then yes, they were the wrong ones. The diesel is considerably heavier and needs stiffer front springs than the 3.7L V6.
Petrol uses the King KJFR-27, CRD uses the KJFR-27HD (Heavy Duty). Check which ones they fitted.
Stock front shocks will be OK, but check that the rear shocks have enough travel - you don't want the shock to be limiting your downward travel or you will soon knock them to bits on the rough stuff.

Lifting a KJ (or any vehicle) involves a whole set of things that need to be addressed: struts, shocks, spring capacity, bump stops, brake lines, etc and the design of the 'system' needs to take into account the differing weight of the various models (ie, Petrol and CRD), whether you have other accessories that affect the springing (bull bar, dual batteries, winch, etc), and of course what you want the vehicle to be able to do offroad. A good suspension designer will take all of that into account in recommending a solution. The problem with many generic suspension / lift providers is that they do not have the specialised knowledge of the vehicle they are lifting and will stick in their standard products. In the case of KJs, asking here first is always a good idea because of the body of knowledge available to assist.
Now if you are looking for a good rear shock replacement have a look at the Old Man Emus (N132)s, they also come in a longer travel one (N132L) but you probably won't need that length.

Hi, funny thing is the springs they used appear to be ironman, i was told they
Kings... bit misleading? They used JEEP014B at the front, 15B at rear, are they correct ones for diesel?

Yep, there ironman spring numbers..
I've read a few posts about similar experiences with the Ironman springs.
Read this

and

Lucky, as I just bought King springs, hopefully getting fitted soon...
EDIT...
BTW
They are the petrol springs.
JEEP014C are the diesel springs

Thanks heaps ! I'll be at Ian Diffens tomorrow... angry as hell
Those "professionals" forgot to connect my glow plug module while doing their job,
engine light came up and gave me bit of a headache, luckily friend works for auto electrics and found this stuff up... Chrysler Jeep Dodge stealership quoted me 140 bucks to find the problem. One more question - there wouldn't be any other reason
for them to install petrol springs, like stock shock travel?

The Only other reason would be they have no idea...
They are the wrong springs and they will not handle the weight of the CRD. Even ARB had to re-engineer their CRD coils as they were originally not strong enough for the CRD, so a set of Ironman petrol coils will last about 20minutes in there. IF they said they were putting in KING SPRINGS, I'd be going back and demanding KING SPRINGS not just the correct Ironman ones.
With all things theres a reason why they are cheaper....
