A few weeks ago I was in Perth sitting at a major intersection waiting for the lights to change - across in the other direction was a dual camera flashing every few seconds. So in the time in took for the lights to change I reckon they nabbed 10-12 people. Some it was obvious they were speeding, others ran the lights at the end and got photographed. That's a bucket of revunue that some minister can spend on hookers!

These are the biggest revenue raising scam cams known to the government.
Red light camera, I don't have a problem with. Fixed speed cameras are just a tax for being distracted but when you put them together they are a scam.

I pulled up at an intersection the other night. It was 2:40am. A car approaching from my right got flashed mid intersection on a green. They would of lucky to be doing 65 in the 60 zone. They did not look like they were going very fast at all. They didn't slow down, they kept going at the same speed. The camera had no affect on the driver, but still would of blinded someone if they were driving towards the camera.

We should do what they do in USA, just shoot them all.

Everyone hear seems to hate safety cameras? They have improved a famous set of light here in Sydney called the meccano set. Trucks used to just keep turning right from Woodville Rd onto the Hwy long after the arrow had gone red. Result us poor people trying to go straight across got screwed, lucky to get two rows of cars across. Now we get a fair go!
Speed cameras on freeways are a waste of time since they don't catch P platers.
Safety cameras change attitudes.

That is truer than funny. Wodonga Council in Victoria- twin river city to NSWs Albury - is considering putting in a 20 KMH speed limit and have already flagged this intention to the local community. I kid you not!!!

A bit of insider knowledge here.........In Queensland they are changing 24 red light cameras to the duel cameras to catch people speeding up to go through amber lights.......and its just a role out phase, there are many more to come!!
As for the sunny coast and other spots they have be trying to get fixed timing cameras to track your average speed between two points... but luckly they cant get the technology to work correctly yet........ but im sure that will change soon enough.
I agree people should not run red lights, but getting pinged for averaging
108km/h over a 20km stretch is pretty stitty!!!!!!!!

Don't get me started on L and P speed restrictions.
How stupid that on your L's your max speed is 80 then they throw you out there on your own at 110. Oh you didn't learn how to drive at 110 well good luck.

Anyone else heard that there is no evidence anywhere in the world that speed cameras save lives.

And if they changed attitudes everyone would only get pinged once and revenue would decrease. But no each year more and more drivers are getting done, revenue is climbing and then road toll is on a general downwards run. Some how I don't think it all adds up the way they want you to believe.

P.S I have never ever received any form ticket for a traffic violation. So I don't have this view because I'm a speed freak who is about to lose his licence. Many people assume that if you hate speed cameras.
