I can't remember sizes but you just get two high tensile bolts that fit through the bottom of the swaybar link and 4 washers to match. Then you need two of these little clips that you put through a hole and flip a spring loaded doing over to stop it falling out. Someone should know the name its the same thing they use for off the shelf disconnects. Then you just drill a hole in the bolt in the right spot for the pin to hold it in and replace the stock bolts with these.
To disconnect unclip the clip and pull the bolt out and put the swaybar on the spring perch. To reconnect do the opposite.

That shows the little pin bit. Then you just get a bolt and drill a hole in it to put them through. Ill try and get some pics of mine but its pretty self explanatory.

Sounds pretty bloody rough if I'm completely honest.
The best thing about the bought ones is that they have greaseable bushes and are not so brutal. This is something I wouldn't skimp on.
Last thin you want is for when your cornering a little harder than you should and having one break, you might just end up like the guy in the white 4 dr jk.

It uses stock links and bushes and everything. A high tensile bolt will be just as strong as a bought one and the pins are the same. The original ones i had with a little R clip as per a online guide snapped and it doesnt handle that much worse disconnected. Youd have to be pretty close to the limit for it to make you crash.
Anyway its up to the owner to choose which way to go so if you want to spend the money on commercial ones go for it but this way works for me.

Yes your right each to their own, just so you know you shouldn't have a sliding surface on thread of a bolt. Make sure you use a shoulder bolt, at the very least make a bush/sleeve that you can replace or it will chew out the bore in no time and become sloppy
