I found i would hit my lower control arms with 31's on stock backspace.
A 4.5" bs on an 8" rim is what I'm hoping to go to eventually but for now (and the past three years really) I've got by with spacing out steering stops.

Basically unscrew em, chuck some washers behind and screw em back in. Lovely.

Cheers man, thanks for the easy fix Ill do this for now, and hunt down rims and such later.

Would a set of wheel spacers fix the problem?

No worries at all mate.

Spacers would provide the same benefits as wider offset wheels, but are illegal Australia-wide I believe.

Good luck unscrewing them. Mine was so tight and rusted on I snapped it right off when trying, I only tried the one. I ended up having to weld it back on as there was no way it was coming undone. Easier option is to put a spot of weld on each stop.

Hmm I know some models came with them spot welded in place, possible this was what you had Anthony? Either way, mine came off with a quick tug on a shitty cheap spanner so maybe I was lucky!

Before I made my attempt I was told the welds were there just to lock the nut. Not sure if they are actually welded to the knuckle or whether is was oxidation. Someone else said 18months ago they come off easy, that is why I tried to get mine out. I have an update.

Regards A

Hamsta, is yours an update? I might have a look at doin this once i sort rego, for now im throwing the stock tires back on until i no longer need to pass a rwc. I dont want any spanners in the works.

A few sneak pics of the wheels and muddies from the test fit. i like the look, but the lift needs attention
