As you unbolt the three hub bolts, don't completely remove them and as you pull the hub off 'tap' the end of the axle back in to the diff with a hammer to help separate it.

That's sort of what I did...
If by tap, you mean, put a sacrificial socket on the 12 point bolt and hammer the bejesus out of all of them until it has come out mm by mm!
I then cleaned off all the rust and polished the surfaces. Greased before reassembly and they are now easy to get out. (I had to replace the uni joints.) Then later the ball joints. Another exercise in the application of great force!)

Bearings omfg
Bit of an update, we had the hub in a 20ton press. Used and oxy to heat up the hub them put 18ton of pressure on, finally the hub came loose. Yea ill be cleaning the splines up now and putting anti seize on before installing the new hubs.
I beleive this car had spent some tine near the ocean as this amount of rust seemed unusual

Give it a good spray, wait 10 minutes then spray again - in another 30 minutes or so it should come apart very easily.

All that fancy nancy stuff is a waste of $$$$$. It has been shown in testing that the best anti seize/penetrate is a 50/50 mix of ordinary auto trans fluid & acetone (nail polish remover).

Kopper-Kote (I think thats how its spelled) is very good. Been used for years in the oil & gas industries.

Wow! Extreme measures
I'd recommend you use a small amount of paint (or etch with a dremmel) across the uni caps to a corresponding mark on the housing. - so that you can see if try start to rotate (first sign of uni problems I've observed)

In my case, the PO of the car was in Maroochydore, so I suspect it spent time on the beach & in the water and wasn't washed off completely afterwards.
My uni joints dried out & the bearing pins rusted. I started hearing a clunk when turning slowly. When I jacked the front up, I found that the ears of the uni had movement between them. If the caps start rotating, it is already too late & you are up for new axles!
