I've looked at these kits......quite a bit to invest.

I'd consider Dynamat xtreme (or the lite version) to cover the inside of the roof, then I'd cover that with Dynaliner. It's only downside is its meant to be trimmed over, so it's branded on the foam. All the above are self adhesive and will easily conform to the hardtop's shape.

I used these products in my last restoration and its awesome for blocking heat and sound.

I've had the Hot Head Liners for over three years. They make a hell of a difference. The important thing with these is to make sure you do the surface preparation properly and thoroughly. Mine are early ones and I believe they've changed the adhesive on the new ones. I've had a problem with the adhesive lifting and the backing board bending in the heat. Once that happens it's very hard to stick down again even using 3M VHB tape. If I was to buy over again I'd choose ones that don't have a rigid backing.

I've had Insul Liners on for nearly 5 years now.
Not cheap, but they were one of the only people making them when I got mine.
Never had an issue with them falling off and they make a huge difference to the heat.
They are the only ones I've seen (though I haven't looked for a few years) that actually quoted the difference in temps before and after.
Can't fault them. A bit of an investment but to my mind worth every cent.

Hot heads on mine for nearly 3 years now with no problems
The stop most of the radiant heat and look like tjey are ment ro be there
However as others have saud you could make something similar yourself
What ever you are fitting make sure you wipe down the area you are sticking it to with acetone first

Thanks for all your responses. Good to hear the store bought ones are holding up. I guess like anything, prep is the key to success.

I've had my Boommat liners in for about a year. Easy to instal, about 25mm thick and great thermal and stereo improvement.
