They are 5 watt.
You need to program them once you get them. There is plenty of info on the web on how to. They are very robust.
The price varies from seller to seller. The ones I have purchased have been a case of sitting on it waiting till 1 minute before auction ends & bid then. I can talk with people 40 km from me no problems on VHF, probably further. In the high country VHF signals appear to bounce over the mountains & up the valleys. The police/CFA repeaters allow you to hear whats going on when driving on most roads, better coverage than mobile phones. Some you dont want to listen to, like the bike ride fatality the other day. Handy to know about road blocks from accidents etc when they are occurring. Dont get info in Melbourne though as its all digital there.

VHS or VHF? I thought VHS was surpassed by the invention of the DVD..... Back before UHF was really around we used to talk to other countries using our 27meg and a decent antenna. Every summer I would easily talk to NSW and Vic from my place down south of Adelaide.

I looked up some YouTube videos... Are they really that hard to setup??? And once setup, are they easy to use? Changing channels, etc.?

It take about an hour to program lots of CB channels in. Band width needs to be put on lowest setting.
In channel mode, just type in what channel you want or hit search & it will scroll through them till it gets one with talk going on.
In frequency mode, type in what frequency you want or a starting frequency & hit search & let it find talking. When monitoring emergency services (VHF) while you are on the move, when signal fades out just search until you get the next repeater.
