You would be surprised John. If you see one cheap enough it can be worth it. You can transport a car on the Indian-Pacific unaccompanied from Perth to Adelaide for only $449, Perth to Melbourne for $708 and Perth to Sydney for $989:

You just need to get the seller or a friend to drop the car off at East Perth train station and you can pick it up 3 days later on the east coast.

Much cheaper than the $949ea we paid to transport my WJ and camper trailer from Adelaide to Perth when we moved over to WA. Just like everything else in WA though, we pay through the nose because "everyone" is earning the big bucks in the mining industry.....

What is wrong with black anyway? I love it!! My WJ is black, my new Commander is black and if we could find one at the time, my wife's KJ would also be black. People always go on about how hot black gets, how it's hard to keep clean and the scratches showing easier, but personally I haven't found it to be an issue at all.
Hanna, how many Jeeps you got mate? BTW, I'm a big fan of the Commander. Was never really on my radar but I've seen a few around and they're a great looking Jeep.

3 at the moment, but I will be moving the WJ on shortly since I now have the Commander in the driveway.

The Commander was never really on my radar either until I started looking for a replacement for my WJ GC. The WH GC was the obvious choice, however I my wife and I didn't find the cargo space to be as big as my WJ and she wasn't all that impressed with the interior and features. Having the same driveline as the WH with the Mercedes CRD, gearbox and Quadradrive II with electronic locking diffs all round, the Commander was the obvious choice for more space and features.

I was concerned that my wife wouldn't like the boxy shape, but she loved it! The best thing is that the first one we looked at had a lift kit in it and she reckons it looked heaps better than standard (it did), so it won't be long before my new Commander gets to grow up a bit!

I have only had it for a few days but wow, what a lovely bit of machinery! Pity Jeep killed them off so early.....

This is generally a good time to buy a vehicle as people tend to be a bit broke after xmas and were "thinking of selling the car anyway". I normally pick up a good buy or two, just got a regular customer into a low mileage Grand Cherokee WH 3.0 CRD, such an awesome vehicle in every respect.

IMHO...
*Black or dark colours are cr*p to keep clean.
*Don't forget to ENSURE YOU check there is no money owing on it.
*No road worthy required in W.A to sell/buy a car (W.A drivers / owners are known to be trust worthy and would never sell an unroadworthy vehicle to another person!!).
*The "65 Anniversary" edition Jeep means it doesnt have a EVIC, no leather seats, all sorts of other stuff missing.... oh but it has different coloured wheels and a stoopid sunroof.

*I do pre vehicle inspections in Perth for buyers looking at Jeep or Land Rover vehicles (preference given to club members, people looking at KJ CRDs (oh the shameless plug)).

Regards
Daz
