Few updates from this week:

One more crappy ARB product out of the jeep, so glad to have this overpriced worthless junk out of the front of my jeep and the poor excuse for a wiring harness that goes with it, compressors don't belong in engine bays and certainly ARB ones don't belong in anything Now just to start working on getting its replacements installed and wired into the back and hooked up to the dual 9ltr tanks (when they show up).

Most of the old wiring has either been replaced or recovered (properly this time) and is looking good, was able to get the winch wiring, additional light wiring and thermal fan wiring into the one harness that is covered and sealed. It's all looking pretty good, just waiting now on the solenoids to show up to finish off the wiring in the engine bay and I can move inside and keep replacing.

Clearly have my work cut out for me on the internal electrics, there are some seriously agricultural examples of wiring been done in here, must of had a auto electrician doing the work by the quality of the work (that or someone from ARB )

By the looks of it someone has already done the SYE kit and drive shaft upgrades on this jeep, will have to double check before I cancel these items

Moving under the jeep this week in preparation for the big job of putting the long arm kit in. First place to start is on the diffs as they are weeping a little and I need to make sure of the diff ratios and sort out the air leaks on the ARB lockers (I know, pointless fixing leaks on ARB lockers, they will just start leaking again in a few weeks......).

Little disapointed to find the front diff is a low pinion, with all the work someone has already done to this jeep I was hoping they would of changed the front diff out to a high pinion D30 before putting the locker in. Guess I will have to ask if anyone knows if the LPD30 ARB locker will fit the HPD30, suffice to say after finding this little gem [sarcasm font] inside (see images below) I am probably looking at a new crown wheel and pinion anyways so if the locker will fit the HP it might be worth doing the change over seeing as I will have to get the diff rebuilt anyways.

Fortunately the Pinion has no teeth missing nor is there any marks or scoring and there is only part of one tooth missing off the crown wheel (clearly another has a fracture in it) so it can stay that way for the time being and I will just have to be nice to it. Unfortunately the problem in the front diff did not stop there, the person that has put the pinion seal in has put the pinion oil slinger in the wrong way round (I would hazard a guess it was the muppets at ARB who installed the diff, seen them do this before) and it has chewed it up and of course these are not parts normally consumed in a Jeep so no-one had it available, plenty of metal shavings through everything so I had to give it a good clean out with brake cleaner, 3 cans later and not more crap coming out, hopefully I god everything and there is no further major damage inside the locker. More waiting on parts to show up, at least I found someone who can get it in at a price I can deal with ($14 for a $2 part is not so bad for a jeep dealer, the Aspley jeep dealer wanted $70 for it and that was after a "major discount", they are complete thieves! do not give them any business). This may be the reason for the damage to the crown wheel as this has meant there was play in the pinion which could of easily caused this damage under load as the pinion moved and twisted, I will be doing the rear before driving the jeep again as I would not be surprised if there has been a similar issue in the rear diff, fingers crossed as I will tackle this on the weekend.

Also been trying to work out where to mount the Turbo I am putting in this beast, at present the LHD battery tray spot looks like the place to put it now that the ARB's crappy excuse for an air compressor has been relocated to the trash can, should be enough space or at the very least I should be able to get an airbox made to fit in down here and put the turbo where the airbox is now. In fact with the air box down there it will give me more room to run the exhaust piping down the side of the motor and remove any of the flex pipe running to the snorkel and allow me to keep the snorkel where it is (may just upgrade it to a nice stainless one) and save me having to run the snorkel along the top of the fender and through the side of the hood..

Hey Red nice build so far, long road ahead!

Does that ARB compressor still work and if so are you planning on selling it? I'd be keen on it.
