Not too sure about the welding there on your loop. Looks quite skinny as I've said and if in doubt, don't.

The US hooks have the same attachment points. I bought a chrome pair many years ago but sold them in 2012 prior to Jambo. The bloke (jeepney) who sports them won a show and shine prize at Jambo. Not sure if he actually used them for recovery as they're nice and blingy!

They are 100% factory rated recovery points. Same as the loop versions fitted with the factory nudge bar.

There is generally something very similar fitted to the rear unless there is a tow bar fitted. These are also rated recovery points.

As a DTU Instructor with MJOC we've been using them for years for recoveries and have never had a single issue with them.

It's the same as the front and rear factory recovery standard on a JK, they are rated to 1.5x the GVM of the vehicle.

I've had my WG Limited V8 for 4 years and it's had a great work out on the front recovery points.

The reason the US has "hooks' as opposed to the "loops" or "eyes" we have in Australia is actually due to pedestrian safety laws.

The powers that be see them as something that could injure a pedestrian and effective tear them open, stupid I know but bureaucrats are bureaucrats.

Mike, if you don't have a tow bar and just looking for the rear hook, let me know. Got one in the barn.

As fester mentioned one on each side would be wise, the mounting on the uni body would be more likely to tear away before the hook let go, it's only 2 plates sandwiching the body panel which is only about 3mm thick, so you can have a 20 ton rated hook mounted onto 15mm plate but it would still be bolted to a bit of thick dog food can.

It seems like they are a bit hard to get here. I'd love one on the other side.
