Being new to Jeep ownership, it didnt take long to notice the 'jeep wave', now I feel so rude if I miss one!

Ditto, always get a wave or a nod from a bloke, never a woman.
Modded JK's tend to wave heaps more than stock, just my findings driving around SE Melb. Although I work not far from DBOR so I see a few modded jeeps.

Lol. There are rules? So a stock vehicle would be snubbed as a 'wannabe' even though they may use the thing for its built purpose every weekend, but someone who's modded their vehicle for the 'look' but never leaves the bitumen (plenty of these exist) would qualify? You make it sound like some sort of weird high-school cliquey pecking order. I'm not surprised people don't participate!

I've never had a woman wave and I don't think I've ever had anyone in a stock JK wave. It's always been modified in some way.

To add to the list of wave rules, you must be in a JK. I always get a wave when I'm in mine but when I'm driving the TJ except for a guy yesterday in a modified JK, I've never had anyone wave.

WOW, so many "rules"... Mine is mildly modded - 3" lift, bar, lights, tyres... I get waves from TJs but only in reply, never initiated by the TJ... I get waves from stock JKs although the vast majority of (male) non-wavers are in stockies...

The waves from the stockies most likely have aftermarket parts on order or in the shed. True story drove our stock jk with no waves then the day the Gobi rack went on it was wave city 😃
