If you plan on doing it all the time your self get a dip stick from memory it was $30-40 posted, if not i have taken a pic of mine so it can help you make one.

The first 10mm is 10mm on the dip stick, then every 5mm is 10mm on the dipstick.

I have also posted a pic of the manual for fluid levels.

Thanks for the additional info and photos. Would it be possible to answer two more questions for me.
  • Could you please elaborate a bit on what you mean by "every 5mm is 10mm on the dipstick"? Sorry the photo is a bit hard to make out.
  • How do you measure the temperature of the trans oil corresponding to the chart you posted? For example is it enough to just run it for a while and then just assume it is at operating temp of say 120F (or what ever operating temperature is) or do you have a special scan tool?

Sorry mate the pic's res has been lowered to able to upload, i didn't realise.

1. the dip stick reads 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 meaning mm of oil in the pan, but each one of those increments from the end of the dipstick are 10mm is 1 15mm is 2, 20mm is 3, 25mm is 4, 30mm is 5, 35mm is 6, 40mm is 7, 45mm is 8, 50mm is 9, 55mm is 10, 60mm is 11, 65mm is 12.

2. Yes i have a scan gauge to check the temp, you could do it but be careful the nag1 is a brilliant trans for not getting hot, it can take a while to get to temp, i live 1 k from a freeway and it don't get to running temp for about 40k. if you could keep it to stop start driving it for 10-15 mins and don't give it grief, if you just drive normal it won't go over running temp which is 75*C.

Any recommendations for an automatic transmission specialist in Perth that has the right gear to pump out all the old fluid and refill with new?

Greetings Ecovandal,
Try WA Gearboxes and Differentials IN Alloa street in Maddington. Have flushing machne etc.
I have all my auto boxes flushed and services there.
Man to see is Keith Yates.

Always an excellent job without being ripped.
