Troutman, What did you do for a mounting bracket?

I used a flat piece of aluminium to mount it to the engine side of the airbox mate. I also toyed with the idea of mounting it onto a threaded hole front lower right of the engine block which gives more room but does require the use of few angled elbows for the hoses.

I have the Provent which also has a drain hose & ball valve cock. Also had the Provent on my WH Grand. Great capacity with a quality filter......size matters!
The drain hose hangs just below the vehicle and is easy to drain.

Cheers, Craig

I have a My 2015 WK2 3.0L VM diesel. I have fitted a ProVent 200 catch can. It was a bitch to fit as there is only one spot you can fit it between the air conditioning tubing and air filter box. The ProVent has 25mm inlet and outlet so I had to get 1" and 5/8" hose and a couple of 16mm plastic irrigation water pipe fittings to step down to the original 5/8" (16mm) breather pipe hose. I ran a 1/2" clear plastic hose with a little stop cock on the ProVent oil drain outlet.

It picks up a surprising amount of oil mist from the breather pipe that would normally go back through the turbo and inlet manifold.

I'm glad I persevered with fitting the catch can as it definitely works!

That's the spot, yep hard to do, but well worth it!

They work well, we get a few more mls after towing.

We also have the Provent 200 with hose and drain tap.

Cheers,
Sally

Hi Sally, have you found that your engine oil is cleaner after fitting the Provent?
I checked my oil last night and couldn't believe how clean it was after 6,000 Klm's.

Cheers, Craig

I think taking the EGR out of the system will have a noticeable effect on your oil cleanliness as you're no longer introducing already burnt carbon & soot to the combustion chamber. Catch cans I don't see how, they simply collect blowby fumes from the sump.
