I never let mine reach the point where the high speed kicks in (I use my manual override before that.)

If I could adjust my medium stage kick in to around 90° I feel this would stop it heating up any more.

By the way when I turn on the fan override you can feel it taking power from the engine so you wouldn't want high speed set to low.

I have the alloy "Worley" radiator off eBay. It claims to have 30% more cooling then the factory radiator, I guess we will see when I fit it.

Yes it would be nice if the medium cut in at 90 deg. I think with the setup the grand has it leaves it a little to late when cooling it down.
What happened to just having a simple two electric thurmo fan setup.

Hrmm I find my fan kicks to high at 112c as displayed on my scangauge which is about 1/8" past halfway. The temp will rapidly decrease from there to the high 90's when the fan kicks off high.

I've got a superchips tuner which has adjustable fan set points however they don't seem to have any effect on the cut in/out points. I do wonder if the temp displayed by the scangauge is accurate however don't really have a way to check!

When do you get to see it at 112 deg
Towing ? Or just normal driving

Not often but it'll get up there when driving uphill for a decent period of time. Never seen it that high on the flat however, even when towing. Normally it sits around 100-108 in warmer weather.

HI Guys

ive been towing in my CRD on a 45 degree day with ac on cruising at 100 clicks and my temp was sitting on 95 mind you my camper is only about a tonne.

My fan is always spinning slowly as its supposed to 100-500 rpm and this is a idle and have noticed a large increase in fan speed when ive been 4wding in soft sand barely moving and that's was at about 105.c( soon cooled off ), and have noticed what im guessing a mid speed happen soon after i have started it on a warmer day if its only been stopped for a short time but soon stops much the same at the clutch type fans. in my experience with other makes of cars fans usually kick in at 105.c .
Saying all this i haven't seen my temp on the gauge go much past half way about the next small line. thou once again the Jeeps radiator doesn't seem real large when compared to other 4WD makes, my mates 3.0l Patrol (yes i know LOL ) the radiator in that thing must be close to double the size of the Jeep.

I think these are great at cooling but im comparing to my ole XJ LOL, and everyone knows they run hot even on the coolest of days .

hope this helps a bit

Thermo are rubbish 4wding my old 4wd i used to replace thermo on it all the time and not cheap ones either and yes i did have a switch to turn them off before entering water. Also put a massive load on the alternator 54 amps current setup draws at full speed.
