Many GCs have had premature rear shock problems well before they should have.Check for any weepage down shocks. On saying that at around 100000ks shocks are usually starting to be less effective. Very hard to notice untill you fit new shocks .

JeepersCreepers13, you may have but i usually use the GC for trip and towing; more likely to have seen me in my 1980 HZ (beige/cream) 5 litre wagon that I use as my daily driver and have owned for 40 years.

Unless it's very high mileage with evidence of considerable off roading I think you may be just experiencing the different characteristics of a tallish and top heavier SUV compared with a 'normal' car. I had a similar impression when I drove my first decent size SUV (Pajero) in the late '90's. Worth checking the underpinnings as others have suggested though.

I’m with you on that. Low mileage (114,000 kms - low for me). I’ve looked underneath and everything looks good (shocks etc.) and it looks like it’s never seen a dirt road, let alone any off roading.
