Just had a call from mechanic and he said that the system passes the pressure test and it holds the pressure.

The radiator cap is nee
The thermostat is new
Water pump is new
There is no leaks in the bottom nothing dripping
Pressure holds so coolant is not going anywhere
Temperature readings are correct
Fans come on and off correctly

But he can't build pressure in the system when he starts the car. The pipes remain soft even when the car is warmed up

Just parked mine so gave them a feel, reasonably firm when hot and pressurized and a bit softer when shut down and de pressurized BUT was he checking the water or air, an easy thing to do .. if the pressure test is good then I doubt there's any problem and the goop is as I described earlier I would say....... you will certainly know if coolant and oil are dancing together, a number of things will start to yell at you.....

10-1 he's giving the wrong hoses a squeeze... best way is to check it yourself.

Check your floor at the front & up under the dash for wet carpet, heater core could be leaking
