That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure if it was dpf I'd have an engine code?
Not sure though. It's heavy smoke. Like if I plant it at 60kpm/h the ack smoke is thick. Obscures any car in my rear view!
Smoke while just normal driving is minimal though.
Will Google how to clean the Maf sensor.

Cheers
Not just soot on the tips. There's soot on the back window. Never had a manifold clean if it hasn't been part of the dealer service.
With regard to blocked dpf, I'm not sure how it works, but I'm sure I would have a code if it was blocked? Does a blocked dpf give a ton of black smoke? I would have thought a filter with a hole straight through it would give black smoke not a blocked one? Lol

Check the oil life % reading in the evic. It should decrease by approx 1% for every 200km during regular driving/towing cycles etc. If the dpf is having problems & the regen process is continually running you’ll notice an increase in fuel consumption, the oil life % will drop quicker than normal due to the increased fuel useage & the sump oil level will be increasing on the dip stick.

Clean MAF first. Simple and cheap as well as check air filter. If either is blocked/dirty will cause a rich fuel mixture which is the black smoke.

Cheers. That's my first job in the morning. Looks like a ten minute job I already checked the air filter before posting - just in case the dealer didn't put the new one in when it was serviced two weeks ago. Off to supercheap first thing tomorrow.
