I think after hearing your replies it's fair enough to think having the sound of those locks and lights flashing is enough really. Probably the annoyance is the reason this got taken off on our firmware

Could be but I think since they went to keyless lock/unlock by just tapping the door handle, having something tooting wasn't needed... and the security bit, imagine if someone is thieving your vehicle and has the keys, the noise could wake you up before he gets away.

On the same topic I found another scenario where the horn chirp or visual warning would have been nice. If I leave a door completely open and lock the car with the key fob there is no visual or audio warning. Just locks rest of the doors and you walk away leaving a door open for someone to get in.

Is this same for all your GCs?

If I have a door NOT fully closed it wont lock inc Tailgate

That’s what I expected that should happen. I have one car that does exactly like what you said, another one beeps indicating a door not closed but this GC just locks the doors that are shut with no indication with either lights or horn. Even locks the other remaining doors like nothing is wrong. Not sure if this is something a dealer has programmed on this particular GC I have. It’s a 2018 Overland.
