I have a spare 6 stacker out of a late built 95 XJ that may fit. Let me know if your interested and I can pull the old stereo out of the cupboard and get the model numbers and see if there the same.

I think you need a radio that's compatable with the stacker.
Looking at my radio the 6 buttons under the cassette relates to the 6 cds in the stacker so when you select disc 1, pressing button 1 you can fiddle with the cd track you want to listern to, thus the requirement of the correct cable connection, do you want to connect to your original radio ??.
My radio is the same as that in the ZJ so a Alpine stacker is compatable.

I have the same radio in my 96 xj and it is only capable of handling a 6 stacker and mine has to plug for the stacker already under the carpet under the passenger seat (I have not got a stacker in mine) tested out the setup with a mates stacker
the under seat had all the right wiring into the one plug (power earth and such)

Ok..thanks for the help everyone........the local radio shop guy thinks he may be able to make up a connect to suit but there is some doubt if I will be able to play all 10 CD's.......I may cut my losses and by a new radio/CD player...........anyone wanna by a Phillips 10 disc CD stacker??...brand new in box..."unwanted gift"!! :twisted:
