Um yes it is sorta illegal but not impossible.

All that has to be done is remove the fuse for the drivers side air bag and pull off the steering wheel. I know a few guys that have done it to thier TJ's and put really smicko steering wheels on.

PM me and I can give you a few details on it and direct you to someone who knows a fair bit more about it than I do.

I read somwhere a while ago I think it was Momo made or was thinking of making some steering wheels that included the air bag (were probably only for commodore or falcon as it was in a performance mag) where you put the air bag from the car into it. Would probably cost a fortune and would have to get a technition to install it.
