The lift I want is to 'fit' 35" tyres to, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

2500 is 'budget' for the lift but I'm only going on what previous rigs have cost me. I can do most work myself if that helps the info I get back from you guys n gals.

Are body lifts ok on jeeps?? if so i would "guess" 3" spring 2" body would fit 35"????? what do you reckon? Am I ball park or not?

That will fit 35s, but a 4" lift with a 2" BL would be better tho.

Cool, now we have a better idea of what you want and what you can afford.
Still need to know if you are really going to four wheel it hard or more for looks etc.

Is the $2500 just for the lift?
What about the cost of the wheels and tyres?
What about the cost of gear ratio change for the 35's?
etc.

to run 35's you really need to regear as the stock jeep gearing is a paltry 3.07 to 1 which is really only ok for 31's and starting to suck for 33's.
Especially off road.

$2500 is plenty to get a lift to suit 35's but it doesn't cover all that much.
I built my own lift from parts from USA4x4, OME/ARB and Teraflex.
Total cost for my lift was well under $2000 and it is using 4" springs.
Flexes well and costs less than an off the shelf job.
I have installed everything myself and it is easy as can be...

You have to decide if you want to make your own from various parts or buy an off the shelf kit.
Off the shelf kits can be bought from the local jeep suppliers and will have varying parts.

For your $ i would be trying to get at least the following:

springs
shocks
rear track bar relocation bracket
transfer case drop kit
quick disconnects
extended front brake lines are good as well

Also you can get a 2" body lift for relatively cheap and install it yourself.
Same goes for a 1" motor mount, the price is cheap, install is easy and it will improve your drive line angles.

Anything over 3" spring lift and you need to start looking at a slip yoke eliminator kit as the driveshaft angles become too much for the stock setup.

Are you willing to cut under the guards at all?
Just asking as I was running 3" spring lift and 2" body lift and managed to fit 36x12.5 Simex tyres without too much issue.

3" spring and 2" body is fine for 35" tyres.
All depends what sort of wheeling you really want to do

I would do some searching and read posts on what other people have done.

hopefully that gives you a better idea
My 3" springs are still for sale, and I am offering to help install them if someone local to melbourne buys them. haha "mrgreen:

Default lift

Wow thanks for the info zzzz I am so used to yotas which are simple to lift, I am going to give you more info so as I can decide just what the hell I'm going to do.

Tyres will be 33" at's for on road

Offroad will be either boggers 35-36

This rig will be a semi daily driver (must be vicroads legal) but with a large emphasis towards fun as we have 2 cars in the family already.

The areas I wheel in are Alpine Nat Park/Avon Wilderness/Howqua/Skene/Wonangatta/Moroka/Crooked River/King River

Sorry I think this is going to be a long response.

Flex is required but also ride height as I need clearance for the ruts in above mentioned areas esp in winter where you really dont get a say as to where the tyres want to go

I am not a winch fan so lockers are on the agenda ie arbs Fr +Rr all my prior trucks have had both locked and I am not going to change now.

A question I posted in wrangler section was in regards to 4.88's because I belive I would be leaning to these for ratio adjustment.

So I guess I'm asking what 'kit' or 'build your own kit' would best suit my needs and how much would a 4.88 conversion be??

Also shock tips on jeeps will be welcome obviously want matched sets for length but have never been a big fan of bump stop extensions.

I hope you guys and girls can shed some light for me or at least give me some food for thought.

I am just married have a mortgage and a bub on the way so $$ are important I was thinking 15K to get what I want done all up ie ratio's, lockers, suspension, tyres, bar work etc..
