I have one of these (s/s one) and they are sensational! Have done roast beef and vegies, pork, last weekend tried a 2kg turkey roll as a practice run for Chrissy and it was unbelievable...........

All with 8-9 heat beads, and I cook dessert (chocolate self saucing pudding) as well on the same beads when the roast comes out!

I picked up the old plastic one for $127 delivered from ebay earlier this year.
I've made pizza, roasts and ribs with them. They are great.
Just set to cook and start drinking LOL

Default 'bout time I actually cooked.

After this long w/e adventure with the SCJC,I best cook my first roast or the Cobb will wind up like all those York 2000 exercise machines,s/hand at flea mkts.(They only work if you use them)

I'd suggest you try cooking it @ home first just to test out how long you need to leave it in there for and how many heat beads to use.

I use around 8 heatbeads.
1kg boneless roast lamb with salt and pepper.
30mins.
turn it over.
another 1.5hrs and it's done.

this is in sydney winter though. so adjust how you see fit for hotter areas.
you can individually wrap some baby potatoes and put them in the moat same time as you put the roast in.
