Get a tinnie that you can tow with the jeep.

If its towing capacity you are after then stay far away from a TJ. Even a RAV4 can tow more. If its a play toy you are after then yea go with the TJ.

Thanks for the other info and offers, but I have to sell my current car first and don't want to stuff anybody around. (an '05 4.8L Patrol, proving not an easy vehicle to offload).

As far as towing, I think the boat might have to find itself a new owner also...gives me more money for mods on the Jeep...
Once the legislation is passed you will not be able to have your wrangler engineered if it is lifted more then 50mm combined (as i understand it) which is rubber and suspension/body lift. Without it being engineered you will be unable to get it passed as roadworthy. Might also get a roadside defect notice if you get a bodgy slip and ingore the legislation, but i am not writing the legislation nor do i enforce the rules, so do you own reasearch.

I guess I'll have to get it together and have it sorted before the rules come into play as was suggested further up the thread or maybe i'll just wait for all the parts everyones pulled off theirs and buy em cheap

Ahh no go on the tinnie too...can't get a 350chev in a tinnie...all or nothing I'm afraid...

Almost %100 on 750 unbraked and 900 braked. Just bougfht my TJ a month ago and remember reading the numbers and was a bit disappointed at the braked capacity, given I had come from CRD Cherokee which had 2700 braked. But as already mentioned the wheel base kills the capacity right off.
