You couldnt afford to change even if you wanted to . At least you still got your sense of humour - dont know if i would had it been my car !!!

Dont know if there is anything specifically changed as the year models went on. Pretty much the same for all of them as far as i know. Also check the air con works. Check the air con compressor where the coupling joins it to the back of the power steering pump. The bearing in there is known to kark itself. Almost certain is leaking oil from diffs/gearboxs - when it stops leaking you know its time to top up



This is pretty much a list of all the crap thats gone wrong with everyones diesels !!!!!



Tell yr mate to buy a landcruiser instead ;p

i love mine and would not change it for quids

IMHO they are expensive to fix but they seem to need fixing less often

for off road they are awsome especially on hill decents

i'd say get RACV check done if it all pans out get it

BTW what are the asking for it and how many k's on the clock ??

that not bad

i payed $15,999 for mine 6 months ago with only 141,000km's on the clock for a '97' model
but mine did come with winch bar, winch, and snorkel

but sounds like a good buy if the test drive all goes well

would be nice to have another oil buner floating around

Yeah the bottom has fallen out of them in price. Mine sitting in the drive idling at the moment, its done over 280-00 Kms.... Sounds like a Diesel now when idling....
