I've only just started reading up on this, hopefully someone who's done it can give you an exact answer as I haven't and probably won't convert to gas.

It appears there's a few variables that affect the price, like 'Direct Injection System' vs. 'Enco Air Valve System' and the location of the tank, either in the back or underneath.

The prices mentioned vary from over $3k to $4.6k, but then there's the Gov $2k subsidy to be deducted.

cooling and cold ram air mods are a big one for the big 4.0L stuffed in that tiny engine bay....high flow filters, insulating the cold air intake, removing the manifold air temp sensor and relocating it to the airbox, wrapping the exhaust manifold with Thermo Tec, boring the throttle body and adding a spacer and updating the pre 97 intake manifold to a newer model version...replacing the exhaust manifold with extractors and a 2.5" exhaust all the way back...also insulating the radiator with foam so air doesnt get around it but through it

also (besides the obvious suspension/lift stuff):

* cupholders
* LED bulbs
* breathers for the diffs, transfer, tranny and distributor
* spotties front and rear (and side)
* roofracks
* cbs and stereos, speakers, antennas
* chrome mirrors and door handles
* white (or colored) instrument guages
* speedo gears
* rock sliders
* bumpers and winches
* HID conversions
* grab bars
* vent windows for front doors
* high flow waterpump/t-stat housing
* on board compressors
* swing away tire carriers
* removing the shifter detents and 1st gear lockout
* deep sump tranny pan
* ps filter
* clear park/turn lenses and aftermarket taillights
* skidplates
* towhooks
* insulating the tranny tunnel and cat converter
* sidesteps
* larger injectors/fuel pressure regulator
* bumpstops/shock extensions
* poly bushes
* wheel spacers
* synthetic fluids
* brake upgrades
* transfer case drops
* coil pack
* factory clock retrofit
* recovery gear/tools
* window tint
* sunroof
* trailer wiring
* waeco/engel fridges, wiring, slideouts
* slideouts
* upgraded shifter handles
* upgraded foot pedals
* repadding/replacing the seats
* seat covers
* cleaning gunk outta the starter
* diff covers
* updating the pre 97 front end to post 97
* updating the pre 97 dash to post 97
* updating the pre 97 door panels to post 97
* adding full window controls to passenger door
* adjustable MAP sensor
* dual battery systems
* overhead consoles
* silicone heater and radiator hoses
* double roller timing chains
* upgraded radiators
* adjustable roller rocker arms and aluminum rocker covers
* cowl induction bonnets

want more?
