Well i've been using this little Ozito $99 Bunnings stick welder for the best part of today and I can say i'm truly amazed. The quality of the product itself is excellent as far as i'm concerned and its performance is bloody terrific !

I bought a pack of expensive cigweld sticks and a pack of the cheaper Ozito ones - went back to Bunnings around lunchtime to exchange them for more Ozito ones.......hmmmm.

As a starter project i'm making up a set of extended 4x4 car ramps, using heavier steel than it was originally made from. I've doubled and in most cases, tripled the amount of welds that the bought piece has, and then added my own bits with big wiggly worm welds. I'm really doing this 1st project as an excuse to practise stick welding as i've never done it before - dont mind it actually although chipping off the slag is a headache - mig is alot cleaner, but alot dearer to setup and own too

Pics of the finito product tomorrow.

When you get it spot on it just lifts up behind the weld and you can knock the whole thing off with a finger, It's like reaching a state of navarna the first time that happens

Cheers

hah!! I did have that happen a few times, but considering I was welding something that doesnt need to be pretty, I was being rather ruthless ! !

Steve, what brand and size sticks do you use ? Amp setting ?
