Engine is good - obviously not quite as torquey as the TJ 4.0 litre motor but at higher revs goes much better. Handling is great. Suspension is very good - back end doesn't bounce around like the TJ did.

I'll post some longer thoughts later but for now I'm impressed and very happy.

Brettski - One thing that always dissappointed me with my TJ was that it was so torquey at the low end, but on long trips it lost that top end speed when I got over 100km/h. Good to hear it now performs better at the top end, but does it still have enough grunt to perform as well off-road?

I'm getting a rubi with 4.10 ratios, but I'm chucking on 35's, and will be doing a lot of driving in heavy sand. Loosing low end torque will kill me.

Well, I was sitting on the freeway last night in 6th gear at 100 km/h and it accelerated from there quite happily - not neck-snapping but still good.

On the freeway with the roof on it was so quiet inside it was amazing. And the engine is soooo smooth and quiet. I almost spent the whole night driving around.

It'll be a few weeks before I get to take it off-road so that will be interesting.

Has anyone had a JK offroad? And does it have the grunt when you need it - like the TJ?

Default Photos!

Ok. Couldn't get any good photos because it was dark when I got home (have to do them on the weekend). But for those that are desperate...

Second photo is a bit blurry because I took it without the flash... But, you get the idea.

WARNING: Photos are big - haven't bothered resizing them. If you're on dialup, stay away...

I thought you were getting a white one??? Nice!

Are those Rubi wheels 16 or 17 inch? They look smaller than the ones in the states but maybe that's because they are minus the MTRs they get.

Nah, definitely black. Sure, it shows the dirt and scratches more but I didn't really like any of the other colours...

17 inch. Would've liked the MTRs but...
