I still don't get what makes a rockstar's political opinion more valid that anyone else's opinion. Why should I listen to them rather than my own thoughts?

Too right Ben, especially when said 'stars' are some of the biggest individual energy consumers on the planet.
Enrique Iglesias performed at the German concert, Leonardo Dicaprio appeared on stage with Al 'The Goracle' Gore in the US, they are really doing their bit for mother earth, thats why they live in mansions the size of a freakin Uni campus..

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/20...arthlings.html

And for those unaware, Al Gore has been under fire recently for consuming up to double the electricity in a month in his mansion that the average American home uses in a year .

Yep, agreed. if i hear one more comment about being "carbon neutral' I'm gunna throw up.
Musicians should stick to playing instruments and singing, not using their performance as a platform to push their own BS opinions.
I listened to Live Earth on the radio, and laughed myself silly when madonna said:
"Put your hands in the air if you want to save the planet!" during her performance.
Yep, I thought. That will fix it.
Dipshit hippies.

I'm as green as anyone else (who's on an even keel). But I love driving and burning my quota of dead dinosaur based fossil fuel!

^^ Yeah i agree.

I do my bit, i just aint going to jump on some bandwagon and obsess about it.

I see Dennis Leary didn't get an invite to sing! :-p

You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna get myself a 1967 Cadillac El Dorado convertible, hot pink with whaleskin hub caps and all leather cow interior and big brown baby seal eyes for headlights, yeah!

And I'm gonna drive around in that baby at 115mph getting one mile per gallon, sucking down quarter pounder cheese burgers from McDonald's in the old-fashioned non-biodegradable styrofoam containers and when I'm done sucking down those grease ball burgers, I'm gonna wipe my mouth with the American flag and then I'm gonna toss the styrofoam container right out the side and there ain't a God damned thing anybody can do about it.

Better still get youself a FSJ with the big 360 cube v-8. Then laugh at everyone who asks 'Are you going to put it on LP gas?" or "How do you afford the fuel?' and tell them to piss off.
Remove the muffler and drive around with the choke stuck on, pumping out black clouds and dirty hydrocarbons everywhere.

I know I do.....

Socially responsible? Me? Bah humbug!
