seems that most people start out in 4Hi and then move to 4Lo only when they have a problem. Logically, this tells me that 4Lo is the best bet for getting through difficult terrain. But....i'm not so sure you all are saying that.

for difficult terrain with little traction, 4lo. That way you'll be in 4wd the whole time rather than rear wheel drive until you start slipping

I use High for beach, dunes, med- tracks and general light wheelin. I start out in LOW no mater how hard it may get (or easy) if there is a Steep accent/decent EG: if I want to slowly go down a rocky hill even if its not hard i'll use LOW to save my breaks....... If going up a rocky hill and It's an easy path i still use Low as its putting less load on the car and I find its much more controlable.
