I recently put in some Narva Plus 50s. (in standard non-blue colour)
They are significantly brighter than the stockies i had prior.
$35 for the pair of H4s, so they are a pretty cheap upgrade.
Physics-wise, all things being the same, the blue tinted globes are not brighter than standard non-tinted ones. The blue tint is a filter that lets the blue though (and not the other colours etc), so the blue tinted ones are actually dimmer. It's people's perception of the colour temperature that make them appear brighter. I find that the blues are a bit harsh on my eyes, so i prefer more of a whitey-yellow.
Personal preference i suppose. The narva plus 50s in the arctic blue are a few $ dearer - not much though.
HID kits are cheap as too... but i'd personally only do a HID conversion to spotties.
