I just recently purchased my Jeep and i must admit i am surprised that it is economical for a v8 I am also getting 13.5 to 14.5 L/100K. Have owned Pajero's in the past and their 6 cyl usually averaged 15 to 16.5 L/100k. I am really happy with fuel usage. All 4wd are thirsty. I just got out of a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser Naturally Aspirated Diesel and regularly got 13.5 to 14 L/100k. And i was also paying 10c to 20c a litre more than Unleaded, so I fugure i am now in front. Plus the Jeep is better to drive.

i hate you all - i'm currently at 19.3L/100km and that's driving economically!
I do have oxygen sensor errors though.
www.rockauto.com sell them at a reasonable price. I have a 5% discount code for them too if you decide to go with them

Yeah, stop rubbing it in about the fuel usage. With my V8 I'm lucky to get around 16l/100km with the city driving my missus does.

Pretty scary when offroad is does use THAT much more than around town.

You think you have issues... as I've got a real problem where it's chewing 28/100 around the city. Something seriously wrong!! I'll llok into getting some new sensors but exactly which ones as the rockauto site confuses me with multiple choices.

You guys have a heavy boot me thinks. Mine got around 13 when I first got it but I have to be careful now just to get 15. Found one of the crankcase ventilation tubes at the back of the block broken yesterday but dont think this is causing it to use more fuel so guess I'll keep looking until problem solved.

Also any ideas from experience on best place to find oxygen sensors. I saw them O/S for aboout $69. Are they worth replacing when there is no faults? Thanks
I think the sensors can get "lazy" without throwing a code. All of the O2 sensors need to be changed, even if you only want to change just one.

Are you guys with the fuel economy figures finding that info from the EVIC or the old fashioned way? I dont have an EVIC but have heard they are not very accurate. I average 13-14L/100km at the bowser (I6 4.0)

When the O2 sensors get lazy they become slow to react allowing bigger mixture fluctuations. Its difficult to test for without special equip. cause its still working (just slow).
You only need to replace front two because they are the ones the PCM uses for fuel calc.
If the O2 sens. get to slow it should throw a code (wont bring check eng light on tho) but they might be hurting economy well before that.
