Guys with an ARB bar... do you have to remove the bar just to remove the grille to change a globe?
No mate you can get it off. It's tight but does come out.

mate are you saying it's tight to get at the globe or are you saying it's tight as in it is possible to get the grill off without removing the ARB bull bar?

Yes, easiest way is remove the grill then the whole light assembly and then the globe. While you are at it, the standard globes are pretty poor. I replaced mine with H4 50%er brighter (Narva) which gave a remarkable improvement in light ahead. About $35 for a pair. Much clearer and brighter light and also a bigger distance ahead. You can also buy a complete light kit via Quadratec which includes the lens and H4 globes which they claim gives a 4 times improvement over standard. About $150 plus freight. These will be my next purchase.

While you are at it, while the grill is off, I suggest, if you haven't done this already, that you put a piece of flywire across the front of the radiator, to protect from bugs etc. You can make hole in the wire so that it is held in place by the grille lugs.

Cheers

gqmad, you originally said you were putting in hid's, so ur mounting ballasts too? Or are you just talking about whiter globes?

I swear putting in proper hids for my headlights and fogs was probably the most significant mod on my jk. Put a H4 bi-xenon hid kit for headlights, 6" ipf H4 reflectors and H3 xenon hid for fogs (with a bit of modification) both kits are by GE Xenon and I swear, its a rediculous difference like night n day. Not cheap, but best lighting. You will get abuse from other drivers in front though lol

I dont thinkmy grille would come off with the arb bar but you dont need to pull it off completely to change the globes just manouvere itenough to reach the bezel screws.
Yep the diesel comes with H4 globes which are pretty crap. The IPF fatboy globes make a huge difference and love em.
