even on 30s or so a jeep would still be extremely competitive in this class I think... remember the huge weight advantage with winching... I'm sure a steel roof can be very quickly fabbed up to suit the required cage... my personal opinion is that I would do this mod anyway... I run a 3mm Alloy sheet on my cage which passed local comp rules but this would have to be checked with MMM.
Everyone on Outers is moaning about it being a patrol comp too... but I just refuse to believe that anything but a jeep is best suited to this comp!!!
I'm trying to convince my patrol owning brother that he should sell it and by a TJ which we will build to suit these rules... I reckon it will be a fun event that takes the $$$ out and the best team back in...

My rigs to modded to suit, but I'd love to compete on a driver/navi/car skill basis. Rather than who has the biggest budget.
I reckon an XJ would be perfect..
Could be a daily driver/club car too. Just swap the 30's for some 33's to compete.
